October 2011 Recap

We started out October with a ride in a hot air balloon at Conner Prairie. It isn't a full ride - the balloon stays tethered to the ground, but we still got up something like 260 feet in the air. It was something we had been trying to do for about 2 summers and the weather never cooperated, but we caught a good weekend and took advantage of it. It was a very cool and I highly recommend it!
Prior to launch...

Downtown Indy from about 12 miles away....

And then we had a tea party to celebrate Alyssa's 6th birthday. The girls enjoyed getting dressed up and the party was a lot of work, but Alyssa had a great time.

Putting on their white gloves...

Halloween costumes were a big discussion in our house. Alyssa was pretty set on Rapunzel from the start, but Tyler would change his mind daily. He finally settled on Captain Jack Sparrow, and it was a great fit for him. Although, many people didn't recognize him!

We took advantage of the weather and took a trip to the Headless Horseman, which has become a tradition...

September 2011 Recap

Another busy month for us. I really don't know where the time goes! We started off the month with a trip to Purdue for a -very hot- football game. The kids enjoy going more each year, which means we get to stay a little longer each year.

We enjoyed a fun night outdoors at Symphony on the Prairie with good friends. That night the entertainment was Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. The kids loved the music, and it was a great evening. Good music, good food, good company.

We took in another Purdue game, as well. This time with some friends and cousins Katie and Andrew. We even got to meet Purdue Pete!

August 2011 Recap

We started off August with a trip to the State Fair. We rode the train, which was the highlight of the trip for Tyler.

We saw some amazing Lego displays which captivated the kids. They loved the one that looked like the Colts stadium.

We had a lot of fun seeing the different animals - bunnies, chicks, ducks, chickens, pigs, llamas, cows, horses, etc. And of course we enjoyed the rides...

Later in the month, Alyssa played league soccer again and loved it.

And then we celebrated Grams' birthday with our family in Indy...

And played outside with the slip'n'slide with cousin Harrison...

And then we took a trip to the zoo. Alyssa and Tyler got to feed the giraffes.

July 2011 Recap

We kicked off a busy July with a trip to Michigan to celebrate the 4th with family and playing in Lake Michigan.

Daddy and Tyler on the teeter-totter.

And, of course, no fourth is complete without fireworks...

And we learned a new sport - pickleball.

Then, just 2 short weeks later we celebrated Tyler's 4th birthday with a birthday-palooza weekend. We started with a party at a local splash park with his friends and family...

With some fun water balloon launching at our house later....

The next day we went to the Children's Museum. Tyler was excited to see the Transformer Bumblebee...

And play in the exhibits...

And topped it off with cupcakes at home...
