Last Fun Night Together

We had a ball with our friends and are looking forward to seeing them again soon. The kids had a blast together, and we had some fun our last night together...

Mmmm.... Marshmallows

We did the Disney Dining Plan while we were there, which in addition to allowing you to eat some really wonderful yummy meals also gives you desert after each meal. While eating in Canada, I got a s'more one night and gave a couple of the large chocolate covered marshmallows to Tyler. He immediately stuffed both in his mouth...and was proud of himself for doing it!

Puddles

We found a few puddles after the rain, and the kids spent a long time just splashing and running through them.

Meeting Mary Poppins & Alice in Wonderland

While ducking a short rain shower in Epcot, we explored a shop in "Great Britain". Little did we know that we'd also run into Mary Poppins and Alice from Alice in Wonderland.

Water fun

It was warm, so we drank a lot of water...

Meeting the Little Einsteins

One of our favorite breakfasts on the trip was when we got to dine with our friends Leo & June from the Little Einsteins and Jojo & Goliath. Tyler even gave Leo a high-five.

Polynesian dining and fun

One evening we ate at 'Ohana at the Polynesian resort. It was wonderful polynesian food with a very fun tropical ambiance. After we ate, we went to the beach in hopes of watching fireworks. After the kids had played in the sand for awhile we realized the fireworks weren't until late, but that was ok. They had fun just playing in the sand.

Our Heros...or so we thought

Alyssa and Tyler both LOVE the movie Cars. It's their favorite, and would watch it many times every day if Mom & Dad allowed. So, we thought it would be the highlight of the trip to actually see Lightning McQueen and Mater. To be able to touch them and get up close.

We were sooo wrong.

Things looked good when we got in line - it was a short line, so we only had t
o wait a few minutes. While we're waiting Tyler was really excited, yelling his version of "McQueen" over and over. Alyssa was excited too, with lots of enthusiastic conversation.

Our turn came next, and we started to walk towards our heros. That's when it fell apart.

Tyler started crying hysterically. Alyssa also wanted to be held and didn't want to get close to them. I was trying to get a picture, so it was up to Mike to try to manage the two suddenly scared kids.

Our time with McQueen & Mater was short-lived.
In fact, Tyler ran in fear. We tried to visit them twice, thinking the second time it might be better, but it wasn't. Oh well. Maybe next time...

Captain Hook

The only guy that was allowed to sign Alyssa's book was Captain Hook.... Does that speak to what were in for later in life?

Bibbity Bobbity Boutique

We also scheduled Alyssa into the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique. There she got her hair done, makeup, and her fingernails painted. About 45 minutes later, she emerged looking like a princess herself. She got to pick out several options, and everything she picked was pink. She was pink from head to toe - literally.
